What is it: the traditional carp and potato salad for Christmas, except we just had potatoes because we were a little ill that day to have the potato salad!
What is it: Macarons from ladurée, one of the best macaron and petit dessert places in Paris! I had some a chocolate passionfruit coconut one and a strawberry candy cane one.
Did I like it: delicious, leaving a sweet taste in your mouth! Delightful!
What is it: we went to a small creperie up on Montmartre and we could get a savoury and sweet crepe for €9.50. So I got fromage, œuf and tomato sauce on y savoury crepe and chocolate on my sweet one- tasty!
Did I like it: I loved the savoury crepe and liked the choc one- although I do prefer Nutella! The little cafe was so cool though, there were little notes and pictures stapled to the walls and ceiling!
Absolutely delicious frenchie foods at a cute tiny little restaurant- there was no menu, you choose out of two options for each course- appetiser, main and dessert.
Country: France
What is it: the pre appetiser, then sea scallops or croutons, then sausage and potato or poulet with veggies, then Loire with custard or chocolate mousse!
Did I like it: very enjoyable well made delicious cooking!
What is it: I had the delicious roll with jambon and feta (ham and fetta- with other ingredients too), and pain du chocolat. There were MANY amazing foods on display!
Did I like it: well obviously I LOVED it and will probably try more things from this place!
What is it: little mini Czech donuts with icing sugar and choc sauce
Did I like it: the dough was a little strange; different to dough in Aussie donuts but the guy had fried them right in front of is at the little stall. They were pretty good though.
What is it: "svíčková" literally means "sirloin", but it refers to this hearty meal of dumplings, beef sirloin, cranberry jam and creamy sauce.
Do I like it: It was the first proper czech meal I ate, and although it was very filling and heavy, it warmed the (very cold) body and it was quite nice.
We bought these gingerbread biscuits at a cute little local Christmas market in the local town. There were many other stalls with delicious and beautiful products, and we also bought some lovely baubles for the tree. It is not as strong as the gingerbread you get in Australia, and it has more of a soft texture; absolutely delicious!
